History of Everyday Life Database

he History of Everyday Life Database is one of the outcomes of an international research project involving the Institut für Wirtschafts- u. Sozialgeschichte der Universität Wien and the Institute of History of the Czech Academy of Sciences. One of the objectives of this project is to create a documentary collection of old memories, family chronicles, diaries and other biographical recollections. Today, this collection represents valuable testimony to the lives of ordinary people in periods gone by. It contains over four hundred biographical records of various sizes, now digitised and catalogued. All data is freely available at the online database biblio.hiu.cas.cz.
